Semi-gloss RAL 5009 Azure Blue http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160487786 160487786 Brake boss I wanted it to look original and I think I've achieved it? http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160487787 160487787 Front End I test-fitted the front-end again tonight and it all fits very nicely. I am using some of the 24 x 13/8th"" forks from ebay. They have very long steerer.(around 11" / 28cm from memory) and a standard threading. I have used a standard 1" headset with sealed bearings and added a couple of spacers (mainly to allow for any mistakes when I cut the steerer down!) http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160573284 160573284 Velo Orange Threadless BB I had the BB faced down to 68mm, but an attempt to rethread to 24tpi mangled the drive-side threads, so I opted for the Velo Orange threadless BB with a 113mm spindle. http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160633404 160633404 Spanner! After trying to find a pin spanner to tighten the BB cup, my LBS turned this up and it is a perfect fit! http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160633405 160633405 Perfect Fit Just the job! http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160633406 160633406 BB fitted I might add a spacer to the shell as there is a slight gap between the cup and the shell and I don't want to overtighten it! http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160633478 160633478 Chainset Andel track chainset. Not perfect but a lot better than it was! http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160634116 160634116 Test Fit Test fitted it all together and it's looking good so far. This shot includes a sneak preview of the Velo Orange porteur bars and Zenith Grand Compe stem.... http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=160634117 160634117 Brake adaptor The difference between the 24" forks and the 520 wheel meant that the front brake would need to have an 80mm drop. This is too long for a road bike brake unless I went for an extra long drop and these can flex. http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=161762099 161762099 Brake adaptor again I polished the inside of the fork to remove any rough bits and set about drilling holes in a 20mm aluminium bar. http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=161762100 161762100 More brake adaptor Fits well....Just need to bolt it in place! http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=161762101 161762101 Brake adaptor rear view Rear view shows the nice little bolts I found in the spares box. System Ex long drop caliper. http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=161762102 161762102 Brake adaptor front view Front view shows that it's fairly discreet and this way the brake shouldn't flex! http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=161762103 161762103 Rear brake System Ex short drop rear brake. Blocks are adjustable. I polished off the black logo with my finger, a little sugar and a drop of water. http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=161762909 161762909 Levers Dia Compe 139 'Guidonnet' levers. http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=161762910 161762910 Drivetrain Limited rear wheel movement has caused some headaches with the chain tension. In hindsight I wish I had removed the lower chainstay bridge as I can only get the wheel in and out by deflating the tyre. Not ideal, but hopefully I can live with it! http://raleightwenty.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=161762911 161762911 Leather grips Sewn-on Elk hide grips over cloth tape.
