This was a prototype Brooks saddle. It seems to have lasted well and is probably the best preserved part. I have not sat on it so cannot comment on comfort. I am not aware if it was produced in quantity.

Yup, I've also come across a few of these saddles lately.

Still in love with the driveway. Nice bike saddle also, but I prefer my leather Brooks B 17

Hi John in Ohio. The design staff were allowed to have as a little perk of the job, a test bike. This was on permanent loan and was often fitted with new bits and pieces to see how they performed. It seems then that this saddle type was produced in some quantity. And to WSB. Yes the drive is made of granite sets. The house next door to me is a farm over 200 years old. The chap who lives there purchased it as a wreck 40 years ago and laid these on the drive. I share the drive and widened it when I moved in 12 years ago. I had a hard job to track down some that matched and got them from a brewery that had closed down and was 150 years old.

I have a such saddle that appears to be identical in design. I purchased it in Fall 2012 on Ebay and know nothing about it or its application:[email protected]/8000004665/in/photostre

A bit off the subject, but that driveway looks like it will outlast everything. Is it granite ?
