Hi - Just expanded the rear triangle and filed the dropouts. Shifting is great. Very smooth and crisp. Have dropped the chain once or twice. No big deal. Done 15 miles at a stretch on the twenty. Great bike. Lots of fun.

Great Job! How do you get on with the rear mech? I've heard that the short stays mean poor shifting/ chain coming off. I'm considering putting one on my kingpin.

Thanks for the complement. While riding it this weekend I realized that fixing up that bike probably cost me as much as my first car--a sunbeam alpine--but the bike is more reliable.

When I got the bike the seatpost was frozen in the seat tube and the handleb ars were frozen to the fork. I got the seatpost out but had to slice the fork with a hacksaw. I found out that a certain kind of recumbent fork works on the twenty. They are made by Sun and you can find them occasionally on ebay. Then you have a bike shop put a normal headset on the bike. The adsvantages - the headset makes for much smoother steering and best of all -- the fork has posts for cantilever brakes. WHAT A DIFFERENCE THEY MAKE! The cantys at least stop me. The old brake not so much!

Your bike looks great.
What kind of fork is that? I've been debating whether to keep mine stock or to add a new fork.
