"Twenty-Twenty Vision" by RichardM ~ UK
Bought by RichardM in April 2010, almost by accident from ebay. He placed bids on two Twenty's and won them both. This, the younger of the two, with cast rather than pressed fork dropouts, and mudguard eyes. The SA 3-speed hub dated the bike to 1980. To reduce weight he?s replaced just about everything except the frame, seat clamp, hinge clamp and steerer clamp/locknut, staying with 451 wheels and building new wheels onto Sun Ringle CR-16 rims. The front hub is the SA X-FDD dyno hub with 70mm drum brake and the rear is the SA X-RD3 3-speed hub with 70mm drum brake. The bottom bracket spindle is a Ritchey spindle (obtained through this site) and the bike now has 160mm cranks to reduce the risk of pedal strike. He's happy with its nice nippy ride as he uses it for trips to the local shops and for train journeys. People are sometimes surprised how much he?s spent on it, but he finds the quality of the ride is much better than other much more expensive folders.
