It was very atmospheric. Also cold and damp!
I was in the area for a few days, shortly before the 2012 Olympics, so it had to be done!
Also a number of similar hills in my local area in Devon, but probably not too common just outside London.

I love the dark moodiness of this picture, and can almost smell the rain on the wet trees. So wet, so fresh, so English....

There is a similar hill in Cornwall on the A3315 near Treen; I've ridden up it twice.
