The tube is left rather skinny! But, with a 3mm steel plated brazed into it, it is now almost solid, and stronger than the original configuration. The plate continues upwards inside the tube, above the cut away area. The chamfer in the tube was filled with a piece of scrap steel and brazed over. The work was then filed to a smooth finish and squirted over with aerosol paint to prevent rust. "David, I've told you before - don't go outside in your slippers!!!"
