Paint
The frames needed painting. There was no option here given their state. Why white? We couldn?t get vintage colours. White is classic and neutral and allows another elements to stand out. The unusual thing we did was to powder coat the original rear racks and to paint the chain-guards in a matching colour. The 18s came standard with a rear chrome rack, similar to the rack on the Twenty Shopper but smaller in size. However the chrome on the racks was badly damaged and getting pitted vintage parts re-chromed seemed to be more difficult and more expensive than getting them powder-coated. Once we found out that Chrome parts can have the chrome removed and be powder coated, we decided to have some fun by adding a touch of colour.
