i sent you a pm , but its exactly as koala says, there is no sheath after the clamp , only inner cable, simply because i hadnt cut it off when i took the photos.

gear cable use is too long. Instead of cutting it off they have coiled it up. There are two types of connector for the gear cable. one is just crimped onto the end of the cable. The other type clamps anywhere along the cable by tightening a nut. The excess has then been wound into a coil
