About Me

A R20 owner for 20 or so years, twenty bucks at a yard sale (trying to not over invest in it [a habbit of mine with bicycles]). Although it was mostly a cottage bike and spent most of the time in a corner of the shed (somewhat out of the elements). Zero interest in repainting it, a sticker covers up the imperfections when needed. Thomson seat post, different saddle (undecided as to which one yet), new tyres, and more pannier friendly rack added after something of a foolish 105km ride showed limitations of setup.

The bike was originally purchased to go along with my interest in sailing. And has been brought back into service for something of a regatta rambler. Plan to take to regattas and maybe other times when space is at a premium.

Depending on useage, perhaps rebuild the wheels with a friendlier to braking rim... Likely to get rid of the cottered crank at some point, as they drive me nuts! We will see. Runs fairly true, shifts well, and the braking with updated pads is decent. Fenders and chain guard were fairly oxidized but may clean up and paint, will need some sort of mud guard if ridden more often.

Photo along the Anapolis to Baltimore trail network, with a very not bum freindly saddle and a rather bald rear tyre...
